First paintings with the subject matter swimmers and the swimming pool enviros arose in spring of the year 2020. Personally, the theme is closely related with the feelings from topical restricting of movement and liberty. On the other hand, I never perceived the paintings as directed solely on contemporary affairs. From current events come impulses for the painting, but motives, depicted in the images, come out of my own experiences from the time when I was attending swimming lessons. Fundamental became asexual swimmers, deprived from senses due to usage of dark glasses, ear plugs and nose clip. I perceived the swimmers as medium to spread emotions in the paintings. They are creations on the edge of existence, their situation does not offer chance for betterment. They are imprisoned in never ending cycle of agony, in which they take a part. The swimmers share with us, viewers, the suffering from contemporary events. For the purpose to attain coveted effect were used visual metaphors, resemblances between the springboard and grave, delineating lines in pool and crosses at cemetery or the similarity between the changing room and dissecting room. In the paintings itself became significant for me a usage of modest colours. The applicated colours allow me to work with scale of hues and they are not resembling with black and white photographs. The smooth brushstrokes, used in all the paintings, is necessity for me, because I perceive them as not attracting attention which belongs to theme.
